BEGGARS TO CHOOSERS
well this is my first blog so , i am kind of novice at it. well this blog is a tribute to my sister who calls gave me the above title.
well i still remember the day 2nd june 2002 when my iit-jee result was out and i did not make it through ,was really disappointed ,did not sleep for 2 days and thought it's the end of my life.well i always wanted to be in IIT only. i did not pay much attention to other eexams like AIEEE ,DCE.
and did not seek to do it.
My father forced me to give exam of JIIT noida ,and i gave it got a counselling call and ultimately landed up there,still remember the day of registration when i was crying from my house to the college,but my parents had no choice did not get addmission anywhere else.I decide to give IIT-JEE while studying in the college.
The first day in the college is the only day when my fatrher came to the college to drop me.i met Atin bansal the first day while searching my registration no on the notice board he is one of my closest friend now,and the college life gave me opportunity to meet my another best friend Bharat jaiswal in our own mercedes named 392.till this date we all are mad about 392.
The college life in first semester was frustating,did not like to come to the college so turned up only 2-3 days a week,as bharat says to me that "FRIDAY IS NOT AHOLIDAY" because i never turned up on that day as we had two borring english classes faired well in first semester with a sgpa of 7.33 but was nearly not allowed to sit for maths exam because of short attendance.
In the second semester never went to the college only went once a week and to give my exams as a result was not allowed to sit for the exams,but was not worried at that time,because goal was still IIT,gave the screening test on 18th april 2003, went well and made it to mains,but got 4400's rank in it so could not get a branch.I was really shattered then as i had flunked my college semester and could not make it ti IIT.so i had to register for summer semester to clear my exams.
Still the IIT bug was inside me ,and dedided to give a shot in my second year(people thought i was mad),devised a stratergy that would not effect my attendance in college as i woke up 4 in the morning and studied then went to college and studied till late night ,but still IIT eluded me.so took a backseat in the 5th semester ,was frustated a lot.did not studied for college therefore the sgpa tumbled to a 6 pointer ,but still i knew that i had to do something as a result sat for GATE in the third year and got 92.3%ile .not enough for IIT.
Well by the sixth semester campus placements had begun and infosys was the first company to arrive for campus placements i was chucked out in the written ,i was dejected that day at it really transformed me as my mother gave the confidence to go for CAT exam but i wasn't really intersted in MBA ,so by may 2005 had no plans to give it.more companies came and chucked me out,but by then i was not worried about campus placements as i knew my interest was somewhere else.
By the end start of 7th semester the great CAT race had started in our college and all were ready for it ,and another of my friends SIDDHARTHA PROOTHI was also in it,i met him in the 1st semester but really got to know him in the last year ,i was sure he would make it through as he had the apptitude for it and sincerely he was the inspiration for me giving CAT.so decided to give a shot at it by august 2005 ,and bought the material for it,the day 20th november 2005 arrived and the exam went well ,when i checked my score i had a chance for an interview call from iim and i got a call from IIMK ,i was taken aback but decided to try seriouly for it and the gd and intw went well ,also made it to mba(iitd).
but still GATE was my interest gave it and got 249 rank in it and got an interview call from iitb went there and made it through and ultimately decided to go for it as i am really intersested in being a techie.
